F-21: Top 60 points leaders and ties from Official World Golf Ranking, as of May 19
The Queensland native broke through for his first major title in August 2015, winning the PGA Championship at Whistling Straits by three strokes over Jordan Spieth. It was one of five victories in 2015 by Day, who overtook Jordan Spieth as the No. 1 player in the Official World Golf Ranking. On Mother's Day, Day ended a five-year victory drought (1,835 days to be exact) when he captured the 2023 AT&T Byron Nelson by shooting a final-round 62. It's appropriate the victory came on Mother's Day because just more than a year earlier, Day lost his mom after a five-year battle with lung cancer. Day posted three victories in 2016: the Arnold Palmer Invitational, the WGC-Dell Match Play and The Players Championship, joining countryman Greg Norman and Tiger Woods as the only No. 1-ranked golfers to win that event. Day, who now owns 13 PGA Tour titles, represented the International Team in the 2011, 2013, 2015, 2017 and 2024 Presidents Cups. He also owns five top-10 U.S. Open finishes, including a solo second in 2011 and a tie for second in 2013.
