Ended several years of disappointment in major championships with his three-stroke victory at Oakmont Country Club in 2016. This came a year after Johnson three-putted the 72nd green at Chambers Bay to lose the U.S. Open by one stroke to Jordan Spieth. Johnson closed the 2019-20 season in style by winning the FedExCup, which included his victory in the Tour Championship at East Lake and an 11-stroke win in the Northern Trust at TPC Boston when he posted 30 under par. He also lost a playoff to Jon Rahm in the second leg of the Playoffs in the BMW Championship at Olympia Fields Country Club. Those FedExCup victories catapulted him back to No. 1 in the Official World Golf Ranking. He now has 23 PGA Tour victories, three coming in 2020. He also claimed the Travelers Championship in Cromwell, Conn. That win gave Johnson at least one PGA Tour victory in 13 consecutive seasons. Only Jack Nicklaus (17) and Tiger Woods (14) are ahead of him. The former Coastal Carolina All-American has represented the USA on four Ryder Cup and four Presidents Cup teams. He also was a member of the victorious 2007 USA Walker Cup Team at Royal County Down and helped the USA win the 2007 Palmer Cup.
