Higgs will make his second U.S. Open start after surviving a 2-for-1 playoff for first alternate at Gaston Country Club. He was added to the field on June 15. Higgs posted consecutive wins on the Korn Ferry Tour in 2024 at the AdventHealth Championship and Visit Knoxville Open, both in playoffs over Tanner Gore and Frankie Capan III, respectively. Higgs also won the 2019 Price Cutter Charity Championship on the KFT. His other professional victory came in the 2018 Diners Club Peru Open on PGA Tour Latinoamerica. Higgs also tied for fourth in the 2021 PGA Championship on the Ocean Course at Kiawah Island (S.C.), which landed him a spot in the 2022 Masters, where he tied for 14th. His younger brother, Alex, used to be a professional golfer, but now is a caddie. Higgs played at Southern Methodist University.
