Final Qualifying: Shot 66-64--130 at Hino Golf Club (King Course), in Japan, on May 25

The Japan Golf Tour veteran will compete in his first U.S. Open after surviving a 2-for-1 playoff for the last spot at the Hino Golf Club qualifier on May 25. Sato posted 10-under-par 130 over the 36-hole event, then edged Riki Kawamoto in a playoff. His lone professional victory on the Japan Golf Tour came in the 2025 Fortinet Players Cup, in Chiba, Japan. He owns three top-10 finishes on the Japan Golf Tour in 2026. He also won an event on PGA Tour China, the 2019 Chongqing Championship in a playoff.
