F-22: Top 60 points leaders in the Official World Golf Ranking, as of June 9, not previously exempt.
The former University of Alabama All-American earned his third U.S. Open start, and first since 2017 at Erin Hills, by first qualifying for the championship in Columbus, Ohio, and then becoming fully exempt due to being among the top 60 points leaders in the Official World Golf Ranking as of June 9. Cauley jumped inside the top 60 after finishing third in the Charles Schwab Challenge and then tying for 39th in the Memorial Tournament. He chose to participate in final qualifying at Kinsale Golf & Fitness Club in case he fell out of the top 60, and posted 7-under 137. Cauley, who turned professional in 2011, owns one Korn Ferry Tour victory, the 2014 Hotel Fitness Championship. During his three seasons at Alabama, the Florida native was a three-time Golfweek, first-team All-American, and he represented the USA in the 2009 Walker Cup Match at Merion Golf Club. That year, he was the Southeastern Conference's Freshman of the Year. In the 2009 U.S. Amateur at Southern Hills C.C., he eliminated Rickie Fowler in the opening round of match play. He turned pro two years later, the same year he tied for 63rd in the U.S. Open at Congressional C.C. In June 2018, Cauley sustained multiple injuries in a car crash but was able to return to competitive golf four months later. In 2025, Cauley has posted four top-10 finishes on the PGA Tour, including that solo third at Colonial Country Club. He also tied for sixth at The Players Championship.
