F-22: Top 60 points leaders in the Official World Golf Ranking, as of June 15, not previously exempt.
The former University of Alabama All-American earned his fourth U.S. Open start by getting inside the top 60 of the Official World Golf Ranking as of June 15. He vaulted from 68th to XX after registering his first PGA Tour victory at the RBC Canadian Open on June 14. Cauley, who turned professional in 2011, previously had just one professional victory, the 2014 Hotel Fitness Championship on the Korn Ferry Tour. During his three seasons at Alabama, the Florida native was a three-time Golfweek, first-team All-American, and he represented the USA in the 2009 Walker Cup Match at Merion Golf Club. That year, he was the Southeastern Conference's Freshman of the Year. In the 2009 U.S. Amateur at Southern Hills C.C., he eliminated Rickie Fowler in the opening round of match play. He turned pro two years later, the same year he tied for 63rd in the U.S. Open at Congressional C.C. In June 2018, Cauley sustained multiple injuries in a car crash but was able to return to competitive golf four months later.
