F-14: Points leader from 2023 Korn Ferry Tour season
Kohles, a former standout at the University of Virginia, earned his second U.S. Open start by being the points leader from the 2023 Korn Ferry Tour season, which included the finals. Won five events while playing for the Cavaliers, earning All-American honors three times and twice was named the Atlantic Coast Conference's Player of the Year. All four of his professional victories have come on the Korn Ferry Tour. In 2012, shortly after turning professional, he won the first event he entered on the circuit, the Nationwide Children's Hospital Invitational. He got an invite to the event by being a collegiate All-American and was the first to win a KFT event in his debut since 2007 and 13th overall to achieve the feat. He won a pair of KFT events in 2023 en route to topping the points list and regaining his PGA Tour card for 2024. Nearly claimed his first victory in the CJ Cup Byron Nelson on May 5, but wound up second, one stroke behind winner Taylor Pendrith. Was born in Dallas, Texas, but moved to North Carolina when he was 10.
