Became the first Englishman since 1911 to win the U.S. Amateur when he claimed the title in 2013 at The Country Club in Brookline, Mass. He spent one semester at Northwestern University before deciding to focus full-time on golf, turning professional in 2014. The four-time European Tour winner was last victorious in the Omega European Masters in September. Fitzpatrick became the first player since Bob Jones to simultaenously hold low-amateur honors from The Open Championship (2013) conducted by The R&A and the U.S. Open Championship (2014). He was a member of the 2013 Great Britain and Ireland Walker Cup Team and the 2016 European Ryder Cup Team. His best finish in a major is a tie for seventh in the 2016 Masters.
