Qualified for his fourth U.S. Open as the first alternate from the Springfield (Ohio) Country Club site. Hardy made the cut in his U.S. Open debut in 2015 as a 19-year-old (T-52). That year, Hardy was named the Big 10 Freshman of the Year after sharing the Big 10 Conference title for the University of Illinois. Hardy won the Big 10 title again in 2018 before turning professional later that year. Since then, he has split time on the PGA and Korn Ferry tours. Earlier this year, he lost a playoff to U.S. Open qualifier Harry Hall in the NV5 Invitational on the KFT. He is a native of Northbrook, Ill.
