Poston, a Hickory, N.C., native who now resides in Saint Simons Island, Ga., will make his third U.S. Open start after qualifying in Columbus, Ohio. . He has missed the cut in his two previous appearances at Winged Foot and Erin Hills. In 2019, the Western Carolina alum broke through for his first PGA Tour victory by winning the Wyndham Championship in Greensboro, N.C. As an amateur, Poston won six times at Western Carolina, including the 2014 Southern Conference Championship.
