The 2016 U.S. Amateur quarterfinalist and former three-time Pepperdine All-American booked his third U.S. Open berth by qualifying for the season-ending Tour Championship. Theegala, the 2020 Jack Nicklaus Award winner for being the nation's best collegian, was the 2017 Co-West Coast Conference Player of the Year. Before turning professional, he Monday qualified for the 2017 Genesis Open at Riviera Country Club and made the cut, finishing tied for 49th. He lost to eventual champion Curtis Luck in the 2016 U.S. Amateur at Oakland Hills Country Club. He owns one top-10 finish in six 2022 Korn Ferry Tour starts. In his first PGA Tour start as a pro, he tied for 14th in the Safeway Open last September. He teamed with Tom Hoge to win the unofficial QBE Shootout in Florida last November. He represented the USA in the 2018 Palmer Cup while at Pepperdine.
