Final Qualifying: Shot 64-65 at Gaston Country Club, in Gastonia, N.C., on June 8
The Scarsdale, N.Y., resident will make his fourth U.S. Open start after shooting 11-under 129 at Gaston Country Club, in Gastonia, N.C., on June 8. The Stanford graduate captured the season-ending 2020 Korn Ferry Tour Championship presented by United Leasing and Finance with a final-round 65. That remains his lone professional victory. In 2019, Wu qualified as an amateur for the U.S. Open at Pebble Beach. After making the cut and finishing tied for 35th, he received his Stanford diploma behind the 18th green at Pebble Beach from then-USGA Executive Commitee member Stu Francis. A couple of weeks earlier, he helped Stanford win the NCAA title when the Cardinal defeated Texas in the final match. Later that summer, he was named to the victorious 2019 USA Walker Cup Team. Wu was a semifinalist in the 2018 Western Amateur and won the 2017 Porter Cup. During his youth, Wu lived in Beijing for five years. Prior to the 2019 U.S. Open, Wu represented the USA in the 2019 Palmer Cup, and later represented the USA in the 2019 Pan-American Games.
