F-13: Top 5 leaders in the 2026 FedExCup standings, not otherwise exempt, as of May 18, 2026
Alex Fitzpatrick, the younger brother of 2022 U.S. Open champion Matt Fitzpatrick, will make his U.S. Open debut after being one of the top 5 leaders in the FedExCup standings who was otherwise not exempt as of May 18. Alex, a former standout at Wake Forest University, has enjoyed a stellar 2026 season, winning his first big professional event at the Hero Indian Open on the DP World Tour. Alex had previously claimed a European Challenge Tour event. Alex followed his DP World Tour victory by teaming with Matt to win the Zurich Classic of New Orleans, which earned him his PGA Tour card. He then followed with a pair of top-10 finishes in the next two Signature events on the PGA Tour: Cadillac Championship (T-9) and the Truist Championship (4th). During his collegiate days, Matt represented Great Britain & Ireland in the 2019 and 2021 Walker Cups, and the International Team in the 2020 and 2021 Palmer Cups. As a 14-year-old Alex cadddied for Matt when he won the 2013 U.S. Amateur at The Country Club, in Brookline, Mass. He also was present for Matt's U.S. Open win at the same venue nine years later.
