Final Qualifying: Shot 65-70--135 at Dallas (Texas) Athletic Club (Gold and Blue Courses) on May 18

The former Baylor University standout earned his first U.S. Open start by shooting 7-under 135 at Dallas Athletic Club on May 18. He enjoyed a decorated amateur career that included the 2019 North & South title at Pinehurst No. 2. In 2020, he became Baylor's first first-team All-American, and the Waco Tribune-Herald named him Baylor's Player of the Decade for the 2010s.His career 71.58 stroke average ranks him second in school history behind major champion Jimmy Walker. He finished with two collegiate wins for the Bears. At Vandegrift High, in Austin, Texas, he captured one state individual title, while leading his team to three state championships. He turned professional in 2021 and currently competes on the Korn Ferry Tour. This year, he has three top-10 finishes, including a tie for second at the Astara ChileClassic presented by Scotiabank. His grandparents, Nub and Carolyn Donaldson, were USGA Rules officials. His aunt, Kelli Smith, played basketball at Baylor.
