Gerard will tee it up in his third U.S. Open by virtue of being among the top five players in the 2025 FedExCup standings, not otherwise exempt, as of May 19. The 2022 University of North Carolina graduate graduated to the PGA Tour in 2025 by finishing among the top 30 on the Korn Ferry Tour in 2024 that included a victory in the BMW Charity Pro-Am in South Carolina. This season on the PGA Tour, he's been the runner-up in the 2025 Valero Open in San Antonio, and placed solo ninth in the Texas Children's Houston Open. He initially competed on PGA Tour Canada in 2022, winning the Quebec Open. Gerard collected one tournament victory in his five seasons in Chapel Hill, the 2021 Rod Myers Invitational at Duke. He competed in the 2019, 2020 and 2021 U.S. Amateur Championships, and was a college teammate of 2021 runner-up Austin Greaser. Among his junior victories was the 2015 American Junior Golf Association Polo Junior Classic in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.
