Gerard will tee it up in his second consecutive U.S. Open after earning medalist honors with an 11-under total of 129 at Lambton Golf & Country Club in Toronto. The 2022 University of North Carolina graduate currently has special temporary status on the PGA Tour for the 2022-23 season. He finished solo fourth at the Honda Classic in March. He competed primarily on the PGA Tour Canada last year. He also tied for third in the 2023 Astara Golf Championship presented by MasterCard on the Korn Ferry Tour. Gerard collected one tournament victory in his five seasons in Chapel Hill, the 2021 Rod Myers Invitational at Duke. He competed in the 2019, 2020 and 2021 U.S. Amateur Championships, and was a college teammate of 2021 runner-up Austin Greaser. Among his junior victories was the 2015 American Junior Golf Association Polo Junior Classic in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.
