The Venetia, Pa., resident survived both stages of qualifying to earn his first U.S. Open start. Sollon carded a 64 in his local qualifier at Avila Golf & Country Club, in Tampa, Fla., and then survived a 2-for-1 playoff with Bryan Lee to garner the final spot from the Woodmont Country Club qualifier. He shot 5-under 137. Sollon played four seasons at Rider University before transferring to the University of Oregon for a fifth season. Sollon has played on the PGA Tour Canada, PGA Tour Americas and Korn Ferry Tour. He finished fourth earlier this year at the Kia Open de Ecuador on the PGA Tour Americas.
