Final Qualifying: Shot 67-65--132 at Springfield (Ohio) Country Club on June 8

The two-time winner on the Korn Ferry Tour earned his second U.S. Open start, and first as a professional, after sharing medalist honors with Zac Blair at Springfield (Ohio) Country Club. Both players posted 8-under-par 132. Shipley turned professional in 2024 and immediately won a pair of KFT events in 2025: the LECOM Suncoast Classic and the Ascendent. In 2023, Shipley, who began his college career at James Madison before transferring to Ohio State, reached the final of the U.S. Amateur at  Cherry Hills Country Club in suburban Denver. He lost to Nick Dunlap in the 36-hole final. It was part of an amazing summer for the Pittsburgh, Pa., native, as he finished fourth in the Elite Amateur Series, thanks to runner-up finishes in the Sunnehanna Amateur, Trans-Mississippi Amateur and Dogwood Invitational. He also was third in the Pacific Coast Amateur. In his final season at Ohio State after playing three seasons at James Madison University, Shipley won the Southwestern Invitational and finished fourth in The Hayt. The 2022 Pennsylvania Amateur champion was an honorable-mention All-American for the 2022-23 season. His runner-up finish in the 2023 U.S. Amateur earned him a start in the 2024 U.S. Open at Pinehurst. That year, he was the low amateur in both the Masters and U.S. Open.
