The Sarasota, Fla., resident navigated both stages of the qualifying process to earn his first U.S. Open start. He posted a 64 to earn medalist honors in his local qualifier at Plantation Bay Country Club, in Ormond Beach, Fla. He followed with an 11-under 133 performance at Hawks Ridge Golf Club, in Ball Ground, Ga. Higgins turned professional in 2024 after playing his college golf at the University of North Florida. The left-hander was the Atlantic Sun Conference champion in 2022, and he was a three-time, first-team All-Atlantic Sun Conference player. He captured one collegiate title. Since turning pro he has competed on the Korn Ferry Tour and PGA Tour Americas.
