F-17: 2025 winner of The Amateur Championship conducted by The R&A
The Oklahoma State first-team All-American is coming off quite a year, having helped the Cowboys to the NCAA Division I title and then capturing The Amateur Championship at Royal St. George's with his victory over Gavin Tiernan in the 36-hole championship match. Just prior to the 2025 U.S. Amateur, Fang advanced to the 18-hole final of the Western Amateur. Those performances helped Fang earn a selection to the victorious 2025 USA Walker Cup Team, which turned away Great Britain and Ireland at Cypress Point Club, in Pebble Beach, Calif., last September. He posted a 1-2-1 record, winning his Sunday singles match over Stuart Grehan, 5 and 4, as the Americans posted an 8-1-1 in the event's final session. In 2024, Fang, now a junior at OSU, advanced to the quarterfinals of the U.S. Amateur. By virtue of his Amateur Championship win, Fang earned an exemption into last year's Open Championship at Royal Portrush. He also was a member of the 2025 USA World Amateur Team and competed in the 2025 Palmer Cup.
