The 2026 University of Kentucky graduate will make his first U.S. Open start after getting into the field as the first alternate from the Ball Ground, Ga., site. Schoenberger, who played his first two seasons at Belmont University, was in a 2-for-1 playoff for the two alternate spots. He posted a 72.41 scoring average over 11 events this past season at Kentucky. He was the runner-up in the Colleton River Collegiate. He also was the runner-up in the 2025 Georgia Amateur.
